Your privacy is taken very seriously. Psychologists are bound by confidentiality as part of psychology’s code of ethics. An important part of therapy is providing a safe place for you to talk about private and revealing information, without fear of that information leaving the room. There are some limits to confidentiality, such as when there is a risk of harm to you or someone else.
By law psychologists are required to keep appropriate records of their sessions. Jetlyn will take notes during your session and this information will be stored in your client file on secure practice management software called Halaxy. Records benefit both yourself and Jetlyn, through documentation of treatment plans, services provided, and your progress.
